My Work in the World
Projects led by women, especially women of color and LBTQ+ are still under-valued, under-resourced, and under-funded everywhere today, even in social justice philanthropy and in investments. As the impact investing world continues to expand and evolve, and more opportunities arise to invest with intention and purpose towards impact, we must direct resources to women, girls, and women-led initiatives, particularly ventures led by those who are Black, Latinx, Indigenous, and Queer. My guide, “Moving Money for Impact” is for philanthropists and investors who seek to make money moves that matter through gender lens investing. Impact investing is simply incomplete without a gender justice analysis. Use this guide to learn what’s been missing from the conversation around social impact investing for too long. Explore how you can dramatically expand your field of possibilities as a social change leader and investor by viewing your investments through an intentional gender justice lens.
Justice Money Power is a movement rooted in the belief that the biggest challenges in the world today can be solved by showcasing the power of Black, Latinx, Indigenous, and Queer women and girls in every part of society. Money is a defining resource in this movement: bolstering the work of ALL women making it, leveraging it, and strategically reinvesting it. The Justice Money Power movement focuses on how all people can create more equitable systems by moving resources through the intersectional lenses of race, class and gender, and grounded in the knowledge that we each come to this work with a diversity of lived experiences.
