the Justice money power movement

The Work

Justice Money Power is a movement rooted in the idea that the biggest challenges in the world today can be solved by showcasing the power of ALL women and girls in every part of society. Money is a defining resource in this movement: bolstering the work of women making it, leveraging it, and strategically reinvesting it while simultaneously addressing the systemic barriers that have kept women of color and LBTQ+ women from accessing the resources they deserve. The Justice Money Power movement focuses on how all feminist people can create more equitable systems by moving resources through the intersectional lenses of race and gender, with the knowledge that we each come to this work with a diversity of lived experience.

Tuti Scott spearheads the Justice Money Power movement as a thought leader in philanthropy, sports, executive coaching, and social justice investing.

“Moving Money for Impact”

“Moving Money for Impact: A Guide to Gender Lens Investing” is a guide for philanthropists and investors of all genders who seek to make money moves that matter through gender lens investing. Impact investing is simply incomplete without a gender justice analysis. Use this guide to learn what’s been missing from the conversation about social impact investing for too long. Explore how you can dramatically expand your field of possibilities as a social change leader and investor by viewing your investments through an intentional gender lens.

Projects led by women, especially women of color, are still under-valued, under-resourced, and under-funded everywhere today, even in social justice philanthropy. As the impact investing world continues to expand and evolve, and more opportunities arise to invest with intention and purpose towards impact, we must stand firmly in the belief that directing resources to women, girls, and women-led initiatives, particularly ventures led by those who are Black, Latinx, Indigenous, and Queer, is critical to transforming our society into an equitable world for all. If you wish to order a print copy of Moving Money for Impact, you can do so through the Women’s Funding Network site here.

“Money, Gender and Power: a guide to funding with a Gender Lens”

In 2019, Slingshot partnered with gender justice leader, Tuti B. Scott, of Changemaker Strategies to create "Money, Power, and Gender: A Guide to Funding with a Gender Lens" to spark critical conversations and transformative change at the intersection of philanthropy, gender equity, and Jewish values. As we strive to advance the field of Jewish philanthropy as a whole, we hope “Money, Power, and Gender” will equip funders with the tools they need to integrate a gender-based analysis into all of their philanthropic priorities.

Learn how gender equity can be expressed through myriad social justice causes, including immigrants’ rights, healthcare, human rights, and climate justice, while also elevating Jewish life in the United States and around the world.
